Continuous with the perineurium (P), strands of connective tissue (blue arrows) form the endoneurium which extends within the nerve and surrounds individual nerve fibres (N) or groups of them. At this magnification the individual nerve fibres can be discerned but the axons, myelin and Schwann cells are not altogether clear. A few capillaries (Ca) are indicated. Stain: H–E
