In this case, the nerve was fixed with a routine method. The myelin (My) of the nerve fibres is partially extracted and shows radial osmiophilic striations around the axons (Ax). In this field, the large nerve fibres include groups of smaller poorly myelinated fibres and groups of unmyelinated fibres (red arrows). Stain: Osmium
