Introduction to HTML
A slash (/) character
is used to specify the top-level directory of
a computer.
A tilde (~) character indicates a username.
For example, the code
<a href="/~funnell/anatomy/ear.html">ear</a>
would link to the file
ear.html in the anatomy
subdirectory under Funnell's login directory.
(valid except for
embed element)
