Software configurations
Note: Installing the Swing module is not absolutely necessary. However,
if it is not installed, there will be a delay during applet loading as
the approximately 2.0MB Swing library is downloaded for temporary use.
This delay will occur each time the applet is requested.
It is recommended that your graphics system be set to a colour depth
of at least 16-bit (32768 colours).
Windows
- Operating system: Windows 95/98 or Windows NT 4.0
- Web browser:

Note: Version 4.6 does NOT work.
- VRML viewer:
- Cosmo Player
2.0 or higher (also included with some versions of Netscape Communicator
4.x).
- Cosmo Player provides the best results if OpenGL
drivers are installed (Windows 95 Service Pack 1, Windows 98 and
NT 4.0 includes these drivers; older versions of Windows 95 do not).
- Swing module:
- Netscape Communicator: Copy the swingall.jar
file to the Netscape Java classes directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\Program\Java\Classes)
- Internet Explorer: Copy the swingall.zip
file to a safe location and then edit the "Classpath" registry entry under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Java VM/ using the regedit.exe program
and add the path to the copied swingall.zip file to the already present
paths.
