The ramus of the ischium is an extension of the ischium that joins the ischium to
the inferior pubic ramus. The obturator foramen is formed with the ramus of the
ischium, superior pubic ramus, inferior pubic ramus and boby of the ischium. It
serves as the origin for the obturator internus and externus muscles, as well as
the adductor magnus muscle.
