Animations

My animations

Here are some silly little animations, just to show off: The following were the steps involved in producing each one.
  1. The animations were originally created on a PC using Autodesk Animator.
  2. The resulting .FLI files were converted to sets of .PPM files using a home-made player programme under VMS:
    FLING filename/DEV=PPM/NPIXH=320
  3. The .PPM files were then compressed into MPEG movies using the mpeg-encode programme from Berkeley:
    ~funnell/mpeg_encode-1.2/mpeg-encode filename.mpeg_param
    ~warrick/mpeg_encode_1.5/mpeg_encode filename.mpeg_param
The .mpeg_param files were created by editing the filenames in ~funnell/mpeg_encode-1.2/examples/template.param. The artefacts are from the MPEG encoding; I haven't tried playing with the encode parameters to see if they'll go away.
