‘RSS (Really Simple Syndication, or RDF Site Summary) is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites’ (What is RSS?).
An ‘RSS feed’ is an XML file containing information about news items. It is intended to be used by an RSS reader programme, or aggregator, which can combine news items from multiple servers by processing their RSS files.
There are several incompatible versions of RSS.
